Packing ☁️ Mexico ☁️ Cabo

Cabo San Lucas Packing List

My packing list from multiple trips to where the desert meets the sea— sun-drenched days, endless beaches, and that perfect Baja vibe.

When to Visit

Cabo is hot year-round, but timing matters

High Season

November — April

20-28°C (68-82°F)

Perfect weather, zero rain, and everyone knows it. Hotels cost more, but the ocean is stunning.

Light beach clothes, reef-safe sunscreen, sunglasses always.

Peak time

Shoulder Season

May & October

25-32°C (77-90°F)

Hot but quieter. Fewer crowds, better deals. Occasional rain showers but nothing dramatic.

Same as high season, plus maybe a light rain jacket.

Best value

Low Season

June — September

28-35°C (82-95°F)

Hurricane season. Hot, humid, and stormy. Most people skip it unless you love heat and empty beaches.

Lightest clothes possible, rain gear, travel insurance.

For risk-takers

Wild Card

Spring Break & Holidays

Varies

chaos level: high

Cabo during Spring Break or Christmas? Pure madness. Hotels triple prices, beaches pack tight.

Everything you'd normally bring, plus patience and a party mindset.

Party mode

Best months: November, December, February, March — perfect weather without the chaos

Beach & Swimwear

You'll basically live in swimwear — bring options

Clothing
Sun Protection & Beauty

The Baja sun is intense — reef-safe sunscreen is required by law at many beaches

Electronics

Mexico uses 127V electricity with Type A & B plugs (same as US/Canada)

Health & Wellness
Cabo Must-Haves
What NOT to Pack

Keep it simple — this is beach time

Heavy clothes (it's hot year-round)
Too many outfit options (you'll live in swimwear)
Expensive jewelry (keep valuables at home)
Non-reef-safe sunscreen (it's banned at many beaches)
