Mallorca

When to Visit

Mediterranean climate with over 300 days of sunshine

Spring

April — May

18-24°C (64-75°F)

Perfect weather with wildflowers and almond blossoms. Beaches less crowded, prices lower than summer. Excellent for hiking and exploring villages.

Pack layers—mornings can be cool. Light rain possible but generally sunny.

Ideal time

Summer

June — August

25-31°C (77-88°F)

Hot and crowded. Perfect sea temperature (24-27°C), but beaches packed and hotels expensive. Very little rain. Book 3-6 months ahead.

Intense sun—strong sunscreen essential. Light, breathable fabrics only.

Peak season

Fall

September — October

20-26°C (68-79°F)

September still feels like summer with fewer crowds. October sees cooler temps but still pleasant. Lower prices, grape harvest season perfect for wine tours.

Pack a light jacket for evenings. Most beach clubs close after mid-October.

Best value

Winter

November — March

8-16°C (46-61°F)

Mild but unpredictable. Many facilities close. Rain more common. Perfect for hiking, cycling, and cultural exploration. Very affordable. Almond blossoms in January-February.

Pack warm layers and rain gear. Sea too cold for swimming.

Quiet season

Regional Considerations

The island has distinct personalities—pack accordingly

Palma

City Chic

Gothic cathedral, designer boutiques, rooftop bars. Think Barcelona meets Ibiza sophistication.

Linen dresses, leather sandals, structured bag. Dress codes matter here.

Serra de Tramuntana

Mountain Magic

Stone villages like Deià, Valldemossa, Fornalutx. Winding roads, olive groves, artist havens.

Hiking boots, layers for elevation changes, waterproof jacket. Real adventure territory.

East Coast

Beach Bliss

Hidden calas, crystal water, sleepy fishing villages. Cala d'Or, Porto Cristo, pure Mediterranean dreaming.

Multiple swimsuits, reef shoes for rocky coves, oversized sun hat. SPF 50 minimum.
