Nice Beach Clubs & Loungers

Recommended

Public beaches are free, but many people rent loungers and umbrellas from private beach clubs. Book ahead in summer or arrive early.

Hours: Beach clubs typically open 9am-7pm (May-Sept). Some year-round.

Tip: Public beaches have free access but bring your own towel. Private sections offer loungers (€15-30/day), showers, and restaurants. Most beach clubs accept walk-ins or you can call ahead to reserve.

Airport Arrival & Transfers

How to reach Nice, Monaco, Cannes, and nearby towns

Nice Airport (NCE)

Recommended

This is one of the easiest Mediterranean airports for public transit if you're staying along the coast.

To Nice: Tram Line 2 is usually the simplest and cheapest route from the airport into central Nice.

To Monaco/Cannes/Antibes: Use tram or short transfer to Nice Saint-Augustin station, then TER regional trains.

Taxis/Car Service: Convenient but can be expensive, especially for Monaco or Cannes during peak traffic.

Should you prebook? Recommended for late arrivals, group trips, or hotel check-ins outside regular train/tram hours.

My recommendation: Use tram + regional train for coastal towns; reserve a private transfer only when timing or luggage makes transit impractical.

☁️ Best overall: public transit for coast-to-coast moves, prebooked car for late-night arrivals

Transportation & Getting Around

Regional trains, passes, and travel recommendations

Trains Along the Riviera

Same-Day OK

Frequent trains connect Nice, Monaco, Cannes, Antibes, and coastal towns. Tickets available at stations—no advance booking needed for regional trains.

Regional trains (TER): €4-8 for most coastal routes. Runs every 15-30 minutes during the day.

Nice to Monaco: 20 minutes, €4.10. Nice to Cannes: 30 minutes, €7. Antibes in between.

Multi-day pass: Zou! Pass offers unlimited regional train travel for 1-7 days (€10-50). Good value if making 3+ trips.

Tip: Buy tickets from machines at the station (credit card accepted). Validate before boarding or risk a fine.

My recommendation: Trains are perfect for Nice, Monaco, Cannes, and Antibes. Rent a car only if exploring inland villages (Èze, Saint-Paul-de-Vence). Coastal towns are walkable with frequent trains—no parking stress.
